LIECHTENSTEIN NATIONAL LIBRARY 2022 – The National Library will move to the current post office and administration building in Vaduz. For this purpose, the building will be completely renovated and converted for the National Library.
The building is created by O&O Baukunst as a simple and clearly defined volume. It is a weightless ark, woodenly framed and resting on a stone building base, which mediates the different heights of the local topography and connects them via stairs. The result is a generous town square and entrance space for the library with a high quality of stay, an Alpine panorama and a view of a possible future town garden in the south.
The library as a public space is open and transparent with a new shell of wood and glass, which creates an unrestricted view from the inside to the outside in all directions.
