SPECIAL CULTURAL AREA // Future of the Uferhallen secured! - 10.01.2024

• The State of Berlin and the property owners have agreed: The Uferhallen studios will remain.

• Starting in February of this year, the studios will be gradually rented out by the non-profit Kulturraum Berlin organisation, with leases of up to 30 years going to the around 150 residing artists.

Senator for Culture Joe Chialo: “This successful rescue shows what is truly possible when everyone pulls together to ensure the preservation of the cultural beacons that characterise Berlin.” In the next two years, a development plan will be drawn up and the area will be declared a Special Cultural Area, says Felix Fessard, Managing Director of Augustus Management GmbH and spokesman for the owner.
