After a long break from exhibitions, we are showing sculptures by artist Michael Dekker, born 1983. He studied sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and graduated from the master class of Tony Cragg in 2013.
“Spatial concepts of very different types are taken up, reflected upon, and implemented sculpturally. Visible and invisible spaces gain expression through expansive gestures. Concrete experiences and abstract ideas of space are equally manifest when looking at Dekker’s sculptures. His three-dimensional form-finding asserts itself in the room through the expressive presence of the sculptures. At the same time, their abstract gestural diversity addresses space as a form-creating artistic design element.”*
