PARKSTADT SÜD COLOGNE — O&O Baukunst has won the competition for the planning of a 115-hectare area between Luxemburgerstraße and Alteburgerstraße together with landscape architects RMP Stephan Lenzen. The task is to complete the inner greenbelt between the University of Cologne and the Rhine, not just providing the south of Cologne with a balanced mix of residential, work, and social infrastructure, but also ensuring an important recreational area for the city’s residents. A new district with 3,500 apartments and offices for 4,000 people will be erected here. The heart of Parkstadt Süd will be a market quarter surrounding the existing listed market hall.

Part of the urban planning concept, “The Colours of Cologne” colour scheme will play a great role in the area, giving the district local identity and uniqueness.
