ENTRANCE TO DEUTSCHES TECHNIKMUSEUM 2023 – The new entrance building to the German technology museum presents itself as a bright, open terminal. The three-story pavilion made of steel, wood, and glass has expansive bridge arms and completes the historically evolved building ensemble surrounding the former Anhalter freight station. Together with a remaining fragment of the Schwechten building, it creates an inviting home for the technology museum that also does justice to the institution in terms of urban space. The open-air foyer straddles old and new. From here, visitors flow into the new entrance building. Its spacious spatial structure and open connections between levels provide plenty of space for the many visitors.
