URBANE MITTE AM GLEISDREIECK BERLIN // Senate assumes planning - 03.06.2025
Seven trapezoidal structures ranging in height from 25 to 90 metres will be built at Gleisdreieck. The master plan for the URBANE MITTE was designed by O&O Baukunst. In addition to offices and commercial spaces, a wide range of sports, leisure, and cultural activities are also planned.
The buildings are in the north, grouped around the two intersecting elevated rail lines of the Gleisdreieck subway station. To the south, they stretch along the urban railway. These overlapping infrastructures give the site its special character – and can also be quite challenging in terms of urban planning.
As a project of “extraordinary urban policy significance”, a senate committee is now assuming planning activities for the URBANE MITTE at Gleisdreieck, one of Berlin’s central urban development projects.
