URBAN DESIGN FRAMEWORK ADOPTED // RothNEUsiedl Vienna - 18.05.2026

The urban planning and open space concept for the climate-friendly model district of RothNEUsiedl was adopted by the City of Vienna’s Urban Development Commission on May 18! This lays an important cornerstone for a resilient, climate-responsive urban district.

We developed the guiding principles together with capattistaubach urban landscapes and an interdisciplinary team covering transport, energy, water planning, and circular economy — in close coordination with the City of Vienna and with the ongoing participation of Vienna residents.

With this decision, the design framework becomes the binding foundation for the next stages of the process: in-depth urban planning, revision of the zoning and development plan, and additional quality assurance procedures.
