STREHLENER STRASSE DRESDEN QUARTER DEVELOPMENT // 1st Prize - 20.03.2026
The winning design has been selected for the planned district development on Strehlener Strasse in Dresden’s southern suburbs: O&O Baukunst and capattistaubach urban landscapes persuaded the jury with a “coherent use concept, urban design quality, identity-forming open spaces, and an integrated approach to sustainability and ecological resilience.”
The site is located in an area of dynamic interaction between the main train station, the city centre, and the university locations of HTW and TU Dresden. A mixed-use quarter is planned, comprising offices, educational institutions, services, commercial uses, retail, and commercially operated residential housing. Public sports areas and rooftop dining will offer views of Dresden’s city centre.
From 23 March to 10 April 2026, the submitted designs will be on public display at the Stadtforum, Waisenhausstrasse 14.
