MUSEUMSQUARTIER WIEN // 2001–2021 Anniversary - 28.06.2021
Located in the heart of Vienna, the Museumsquartier opened its doors 20 years ago.
O&O Baukunst has contributed a number of striking contemporary buildings to the former royal stables of the Habsburg empire. The Mumok, Kunsthalle Wien, Leopold Museum, and MQ Libelle on the roof of the Leopold Museum are key components of the twenty-first century art and culture centre.
Deutschlandfunk radio honoured the MQ as “A living example of how innovation and cultural heritage go hand in hand. Along with the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Berlin Museum Island, the Museumsquartier Wien is one of the largest and most well-known cultural facilities in the world.”
