"GESCHÄFTSHAUS AM ZOO" // COMPETITION - 01.06.2015

The office building created in the center of the City West is an important building block in more important winning zoo area and a central urban space link between Bahnhof Zoo, Kurfürstendamm, late nineteenth block structure and the new tower structures Breitscheidplatz. The design makes reference to the different building types and heights in the area and developed a modified from the block type open building figure which independently maintained by expression of a 37 m high, plano-concave shaped building structure. A wide expansive 2nd floor along Joachimsthalerstrasse leaves a generous open passage as a public space arise, which establishes a formal relation to the buildings of the post-war modernism and the interaction developed an original and distinctive characteristic of the entire figure. Along Joachimsthalerstrasse the structure in the upper floors follows the street sheet and forms a concave curved body.
